Edmée de M. Firth, Vice President and Executive Director

(1991-2021)


The Jean and Louis Dreyfus Foundation announces with great sorrow the death of Edmée Firth, longtime Vice President and Executive Director on March 9, 2021 after a five-year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Edmée served as the Foundation’s Executive Director for 30 years and was deeply committed to the Foundation’s mission of supporting New Yorkers in need in the areas of Aging, Arts, Education, and Social Services.

Foundation History & Mission

The Jean and Louis Dreyfus Foundation, Inc. was established in 1979 from the estate of Louis Dreyfus, a music publisher, and that of his wife, Jean. The mission of the Foundation is to enhance the quality of life of New Yorkers, particularly the aging and disadvantaged. The Foundation disburses grants to organizations within the five boroughs of New York City and primarily in fields supportive of aging, arts, education, and social services.
